Planning permission worth £200-million pound granted for Luton Airport rail link

Existing shuttle buses will be replaced by the new fully-automated mass passenger transit service which will run for 24-hours.

The new service is expected by the year 2021.

The increase in Passengers using the terminal is on the rise and it is estimated that more than 1.5 million passengers used the terminal the previous month.

There is also a request to introduce a special rail service to central London

The Luton Airport expects this could reduce approximately 70,000 cars each year from the M1 and lower CO2 emissions by 500 tonnes each year by encouraging more and more people to visit the airport terminal by trains and buses.
